Teach the individual, not the classroom
We’re always interested in hearing from thoughtful, engaging educators who share our belief that there is no one way to learn.
who we look for
We work mainly with qualified teachers and experienced educators, as well as exceptional graduates with the knowledge, empathy and enthusiasm to become excellent tutors. One-to-one tuition offers something special: the time and freedom to really understand the student in front of you, adapt your teaching to the way they learn, and see the difference that individual attention makes.
Experience supporting SEND and neurodivergent learners is particularly welcome.
your hours
Work that fits around you
Our tutors choose how much work they take on. You might tutor one student alongside classroom teaching or other commitments, or build a much fuller timetable. We match tutors and students thoughtfully, considering personality, learning needs and teaching approach as well as subject expertise.

Supported by Emerson Tuition
Our tutors aren’t simply given a student’s details and left to get on with it. We provide guidance, resources and training, led by experienced educators in the Emerson team. We want our tutors to have the same freedom we give our students: to bring their own strengths, ideas and personality to their work, while sharing the values that underpin Emerson Tuition.

Interested in joining us?
We’re particularly keen to hear from tutors who can teach face to face in East Sussex, Havering and Chelmsford. Whether you’re an experienced teacher, stepping away from the classroom or adding one-to-one tuition to your existing work, tell us a little about yourself, your experience and the subjects and ages you teach.
