Poppy

Poppy, a passionate English educator.

I currently work in a school supporting Year 11 pupils with English, which has given me hands-on experience, a strong understanding of the GCSE curriculum, exam pressures, and the specific needs of students preparing for their exams. Alongside this role, I have tutored English Language and Literature, helping students achieve their target grades with confidence.

I am highly familiar with the AQA exam board specifications, and my experience working with SEMH pupils has strengthened my belief that effective learning must be personalised to each individual student. I recognise that every learner is different, so I adapt my teaching approach to suit a range of abilities and learning styles. I firmly believe that all students can achieve excellent results when they are given the right support and encouragement.

Above all, I strive to create a supportive and nurturing learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and progressing at their own pace. My goal is for every student to enter their exams feeling prepared, confident and capable of achieving their best.

Outside of work I have a strong interest in psychology; I hold a degree in the subject and continue to engage with it through documentaries and podcasts, keeping up to date with new ideas and research.

I can’t wait to work with you!
