Primary
Primary tuition
Strong foundations matter, but so does how children feel about learning. Our Primary tutors teach English, maths and the wider curriculum one to one, shaped around your child’s strengths, needs and interests.
foundations
Filling gaps, building confidence, or more challenge
Whether a child needs help filling gaps, building confidence or more challenge than they’re currently getting, we aim to make learning purposeful, engaging and enjoyable. Lessons are adapted to each child’s strengths, needs and interests, and to what they are covering at school.
hands on
Learning you can touch
Younger children often learn best with their hands. Letters are traced in salt and built from foam, number bonds are counted out with pegs and counters, sentences are assembled from word cards before they are written. It is careful, structured teaching that doesn’t feel like a worksheet.
homework
Little homework, and only when it helps
Purposeful time with a tutor is worth more than time spent alone feeling anxious over a worksheet. We don’t routinely add homework for the sake of it. We may suggest small, useful things to practise, and above all reading together, and short, frequent times-table practice that doesn’t have to happen at a table.

Questions parents ask
What subjects do you teach at Primary?
English and maths, and the wider primary curriculum, adapted to each child’s strengths, needs and interests.
Will my child get lots of homework?
No. We don’t routinely set homework for primary children. We may suggest small, useful things to practise between lessons, and we encourage reading together as often as you can.
